Ways to Finance Travel

There are a multitude of ways to finance travel, if you're just a little creative.  I'm writing more on my personal blog about it, here:  http://thenomadtrip.com

For instance, consider the following:
  • You can start a travel blog
  • You can create a travel podcast
  • You can document your travel and make a movie/book afterwards (or during your travel)
  • You can create a website that explains what you're doing and direct sponsors towards it (to secure a sponsorship)
  • You can learn an in-demand trade (like A/C work or car engine repair)
  • You can wait tables (sometimes, depending on visas and such)
  • You can create a web presence on Shopify and sell goods to consumers
  • You can create a dropship company
  • You can create a lightweight iPhone app
  • You can create some simple software
  • You can create an online storefront
  • You can provide online services (consulting, SEO, video editing)
  • You can sell photos of your travels

As you can see, with just a little bit of creativity there's a vast array of things you can do to earn money while you travel.  I will give you a bit of warning - earning passive income is by no means easy - in fact it is very difficult.  It will require a little bit of money up front but also a massive investment of time to build up enough revenue that you're comfortable (even on a very modest budget).

If you have the time (or can outsource some of the work) you may find that having a virtual assistant is a good idea.  But that's a personal choice and it depends on how much you value your time.

However you decide to do it, I hope you drop me a link here, at my blog.  Thanks for reading!
